Whether you’re itching to put on your dancing shoes or content to settle into a comfortable couch and watch the world go by, the St. George Senior Center has something for every active older citizen.
The center offers a wide variety of activities free to seniors over age 60 (donations are always appreciated.) Younger citizens are also welcome to participate, but required to pay a fee. A full list and schedule of activities can be found on the center website.

- Knitting/Crocheting
- Ceramics
- Painting

- Billiards
- Genealogy
Regular service programs include:
- Widow support group
- Parkinson’s support group
- Memory activity class
- Arthritis exercise
- Computer training class
- Medicare Part D assistance
- Tax assistance (offered until April 12)
- Drivers’ assistance
- Hearing device assistance
- Blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol checks
The center also provides a lending library, thrift store, daily lunches, access to simple legal, financial and insurance information and coordinates with Dial-A-Ride and Meals on Wheels. Events such as the recent Celebrating Wellness Expo raise money for the center while offering educational services to the public.
“There is a lot going on at the senior center for seniors to stay active, learn something new and (gain) social contacts,” Public Relations Director Cynthia Stewart said.
